Rebecca Lovell

Rebecca is deputy director of the office of economic development for the city of Seattle. As Deputy Director, Rebecca oversees key sector strategy, startup support, economic intelligence, talent development, small business support and neighborhood business districts, seeking to balance innovation and entrepreneurship with race and social justice, gender equity and economic diversity. She previously served as the City’s first Startup Advocate. Prior roles include Program Director, Alliance of Angels; Executive Director, Northwest Entrepreneur Network; Chief Business Officer, GeekWire and adjunct instructor on venture capital investing for the UW Foster MBA Program. She brings 20 years of operating and management experience to her leadership roles in both for-profit and non-profit sectors, was recognized as one of the top 100 women in Tech from the Puget Sound Business Journal, and Tech Flash’s “Do Gooder of the Year.” A phi beta kappa graduate of Carleton College, she received her MBA from the University of Washington, and is currently serving as a volunteer mentor for Techstars.
